The 2021 Caribbean Premier League will constitute 33 matches overall. More exciting is the announcement that St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots team have signed Chris Gayle for the CPL 2021.

Chris Gayle has been missing in action for a year because of private reasons. He was to play for St. Lucia Zouks team in the 2020 CPL league before his break but didn’t. So, let’s find out more about his history and information on the upcoming 2021 CPL tournaments.

Christopher Henry Gayle

In the 2017 first finals, Chris had been titled Captain to the Patriots. In 2017 and 2018, he had played for the Patriots.

The left-hand bat and right-arm off-break has terrific hand-eye control. Chris is one batsman who has thoroughly prospered in the field and especially in the T20 formats. He holds the fastest century, highest individual score, and most sixes in an innings.

Below are the 41-year-old’s last matches in their various formats:

The Previous Schedule

The BCCI had made the 2021 CPI matches be between 28 August to 19 September. However, following discussions with the Caribbean Premier League and Cricket West Indies, the dates were revised, and matches were brought forward.

BCCI did that revision for several reasons. The first was because many coaching staff and cricketers are engaged in both the CPL and IPL. Moreover, the owners of Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL also own St. Lucia Zouks and Trinbago Knights in the CPL.

The second reason is that the BCCI wanted the IPL group to move from the Caribbean sooner since the rest of the IPL will take place in the United Arab Emirates. Therefore, this whole revision will give effortless movements overall.
