What is a team?

Why is team performance management critical?

Phases of team performance management
There are three phases to team performance management: planning, setting up, and achieving the desired result. The planning stage is concerned with the team’s overall direction, establishing goals, creating roles, delegating tasks, and ensuring that all parties are committed to the same objectives. Finally, once the desired results have been achieved, the last phase brings team performance management back to reality by assessing the team’s performance, identifying areas for improvement and reviewing the objectives set out at the planning stage.
High performing teams know that communication is key. Without clear and effective communication within a team, there is a high chance of poor decisions being made that impact the team’s productivity. Effective team management also involves effective communication, both among teammates as well as amongst management. Teams that work effectively will engage in secondary research, and they will ensure that all team members understand what is expected of them.
